Samantha was born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee.

After spending several years in retail management, she decided it was time for a change. She enrolled in classes at a local community college. After completing her associate’s degree, she transferred to the University of Tennessee.  In May of 2016, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communication. She had an emphasis in public relations and a minor in business administration.  Samantha’s favorite memory of college is working on a campaign for the Knoxville Visitor’s Center.

Soon after graduating from college, she moved to Rio Rancho. She was hired on as Membership Relations Specialist with the Rio Rancho Regional Chamber of Commerce in May of 2017. Samantha represents the Chamber for the Ambassadors, as well as Visionaries. She handles all things PR for the Chamber including social media management and graphic design. Because of her position within the Chamber, Samantha has had the opportunity to meet many community leaders. She loves meeting new people, especially ones who can give her advice about life in New Mexico.

Samantha’s Life Outside of the Chamber

Outside of the Chamber, Samantha loves to spend time outdoors; her favorite type of outdoor adventure is hiking. While in Tennessee, she focused on hiking trails in the Smokies. Because she is new to New Mexico, every day is an adventure, as she has to use Google Maps just to get to the grocery store. In the short amount of time she has been here, Samantha has visited as many places as possible. Her favorite places in New Mexico have been Carlsbad Caverns and White Sands.

Samantha also loves taking time to go back to Tennessee. While in Tennessee, she takes her nieces and nephew to Dollywood and spends several days soaking in the rivers and lakes of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Most of all, she loves spending time with her family and friends.

Samantha is a live music enthusiast. She has seen more than 300 concerts ranging from classic rock acts like Lynyrd Skynyrd, to more modern musicians like The Black Keys. As a result of her love of music, she has traveled across the nation to see her favorite musicians perform. Perhaps one of the highlights of Samantha’s life was meeting rock legend Robert Plant.

Samantha has one dog, Maddie, a Great Pyrenees who thinks she is a lap dog.
